Sometimes it’s very hard to find inspiration. For quite some time I’ve wanted to experiment around with colored lighting. I finally managed to find the inspiration for it from the incredibly dark soundtrack of John Wick.

Having finally found inspiration for this shoot, I drew up the lighting schematic, which consisted of seven speedlights. It took an hour to set up everything just how I envisioned it. We started shooting at 10PM, and finished at 1AM.

Now… Usually, I would have called it a day, gone to sleep and proceeded to edit the image in the morning. But, for some odd reason, I decided to get right to it. I had a meal and packed up all of the gear from the shoot and started editing the image at 4AM. By 6AM, I was finally finished with the image and  ready to go to sleep.

Thinking about it now, I don’t know why I did it like that. I could have easily gone to sleep and continued in the morning. However, what I can say, is that inspiration is a weird little thing…
